This website, https://janrydl.com (hereinafter “the site”), is operated by Jan Rydl (“I”, “me”, “my”), a self-employed professional providing music production and mixing services to a worldwide clientele. I am the data controller responsible for any personal data processed in connection with the site.

Scope of This Policy
This site is intentionally minimal. It does not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, tag managers, or any similar tracking technologies. There are no contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, or accounts. The site simply displays information about my services and provides direct contact details.
Personal data is therefore only processed when you choose to contact me directly using the email address or phone number listed on the site.
What Personal Data I Collect
Data you provide directly when contacting me:
- Your name, email address, and/or phone number
- Any information you voluntarily share in your message, project brief, or during a consultation (for example, references, files, project details)
Data collected automatically:
- Standard server logs maintained by my hosting provider (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamp of the request) for the purpose of operating and securing the site. I do not use this data for analytics or profiling.
How and Why I Use Your Data
I process your personal data only for clearly defined purposes and only where I have a legal basis under the GDPR.
To respond to your inquiry and provide services
Used to communicate with you, prepare proposals, and deliver the music production or mixing services you request. Legal basis: Performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
For legal and accounting obligations
Where I enter into a paid engagement with you, I am required by Czech law to retain certain records (such as invoices and related correspondence) for the periods set by tax and accounting legislation. Legal basis: Compliance with a legal obligation.
For the security and operation of the site
Standard server logs are used to keep the site running and to protect it against abuse. Legal basis: Legitimate interest in maintaining a secure and functional website.
I do not use your data for marketing, advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
Who I Share Your Data With
I do not sell your personal data, and I do not share it with advertising networks.
I rely on a small number of trusted third parties strictly for the operation of my business:
- Hosting provider for the website itself
- Email and cloud storage providers for handling correspondence and project files (for example, Google Workspace, Google Drive, or similar services I use to communicate and exchange files with clients)
- Accounting and tax professionals where required for invoicing and compliance
- Legal authorities, only where required by law
International Data Transfers
Some of the providers above are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this is the case, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards permitted by the GDPR, which may include:
- Adequacy decisions issued by the European Commission
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) in agreements with the providers
- The EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), where the recipient is certified
Data Retention
I keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected:
- Inquiries that do not lead to a project: up to 12 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Active and past clients: for the duration of our working relationship and afterwards for as long as required by Czech tax and accounting law (typically up to 10 years for invoicing records).
- Server logs: kept for short technical retention periods set by the hosting provider.
How I Protect Your Data
I apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to keep your personal data secure, including access control on my devices and accounts, up-to-date software, and a deliberately small set of service providers.
Children’s Privacy
My services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your Rights Under the GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area (or your data is otherwise protected by the GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data, where applicable
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
